The photo above shows Arvid Andersson taking a rest in his pedaling on his way home. Arvid is having a small talk with his daughter Greta, who is bent over to fix my shoes, to the right in the photo. The photo was taken outdoors our house in 1954.
This photo shows my mother as she milks the cow Julia, in June 1954. The cow is anxious, because of biting midges. To the left in the photo you can see me 4 years old, and our dog. The dog Sessan was a co-worker, to look after our livestock. We had 5 cows, 2–4 calves and 2 horses. We also had some pigs and hens.
In 1972 my father was forced to sell out our cows, since severe rationalizations in the distribution of milk were about to take place. All the dairies that handled small quantities of milk were closed down.
My father as a plowman with our two horses Prins and Bläsen. All three are taking a pause in their hard physical work. In 1954, my father was 46 years old.
My father as a farmer and a sower at the Bengtsson's field, in May 1954. I was 4 years old when my father took this photo. The horse my father used to drag the sowing machine, that day in 1954, was Bläsen. The two horses had their stable in the building with the white roof, at the old Bengtsson's farm. In the wintertime the horses had two young cows as company, and to keep the stable warm and comfortable.
In this photo Hugo Andersson is on his way back home from one of his journeys to the dairy. Probably, he brought some firm cheese and butter with him back from the dairy. Between the forefeet of the horse Prins, one can see our dog Sessan. I do not know how my father managed to take this action photo with the self-timer on his camera, but he did.
Conny Andersson five years old with the horse Prins just before Christmas in 1955. We are bringing the wagon back home from the dairy. Of course, my father was acting as a supervisor.
This photo shows my mother Greta Andersson, Conny Andersson, Nils Pettersson and Margit Pettersson at Christmas in 1955. My mother was 45, I was 5, Nils was 36 and Margit was 37 years old, when my father took this photo. The photo was taken in our kitchen. As I wrote earlier, Margit and Nils Pettersson were my bonus parents. Margit was born on February 12, 1918. Nils was born on November 21, 1919. I have kept the gift they gave me that Christmas. It was a Silva compass.
Arvid Andersson was born on August 31, 1884. This photo shows him at his 75th birthday in 1959. The people in this photo are from the left Greta Andersson, Birgit Andersson, Amanda Andersson, Sven Andersson with his hands on his parents shoulders, Arvid Andersson, Conny Andersson and Tommy Andersson. The youngest kid, in braces and with his hands in his pockets, is Gunnar Andersson. Tommy and Gunnar are the children of Birgit and Sven.
Behind Amanda's head, one can see a glimpse of the photo my father took at her 70th birthday in 1953. Both photos were taken in the same room, in Arvid's and Amanda's beautiful farmhouse. That room had one of the two tiled stoves in their house.
