This photo shows Slirå in the afternoon, on my way back toward Finse. It is a nice view along Rallarvegen toward Sandå. The highest mountain in the photo is store Finsenuten, with a peak at 1599 meters above sea level. (Photo at 16:13:33, August 1 2006)
A view toward Sandå, and the mountain store Finsenuten. The red building is the lengthmen's house. The photo also shows the navvies' cottage at Sandå. (Photo at 16:20:14, August 1 2006)
This photo shows the Hardangerjøkulen glacier, with Sandåvatnet in the foreground. To the right in the photo is the part of the glacier named Middalen in Norwegian. From the right, almost in the middle of the photo, one can see the mountain nordre Kongsnuten. You might see a glimpse of a cabin circa 250 meters below the peak of nordre Kongsnuten. That is an emergency shelter, named Appelsinhytta. It is on the skiing route, in wintertime, to and from Middalen. (Photo at 16:20:26, August 1 2006)
A view, from north-west, toward the beautiful lengthmen's house at Sandå. Nowadays, it is a private house. (Photo at 16:24:37, August 1 2006)
